Opening Reception: Gene A. Felice II Solo Exhibition: Art & Science in Conversation
January 17 @ 5:30pm - 7:00pmFree
Gene A. Felice II – Solo Exhibition is on view in the Cultural Arts Building Gallery January 17 through February 22.
Gene Felice II, the Department’s newest faculty member bridges his creative practice across art, science, education and design. Gene’s hybrid practice grows at the intersection of nature and technology, developing interactive work using a variety of input and output sources such as bio and eco sensors, motion, sound and light. His projected video and animated imagery transform two dimensional surfaces and architectural structures into three-dimensional storytelling systems.
The show will evolve throughout its duration, displaying additional work-in-progress, evening video projection mapping performances via the mobile Coaction Lab (www.coactionlab.org/mcl/) and a series of Friday afternoon, creative technology workshop sessions.
The first two workshops are listed as:
Gallery Workshop 1 – Feb. 1st – 1:30pm
Video Projection Mapped Microscopy
Gallery Workshop 2 – Feb. 15th – 3pm
Air and Water sensing / interaction via Arduino / DIY electronics
The campus and members of the public are invited to a free opening reception at 5:30 p.m. on January 17 in the gallery space. Both workshops will take place in the CAB Art Gallery and are open to both students and the general public.
