NC cop accused of sexual assault during response

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman says a North Carolina police officer charged with sexually assaulting females while in uniform fondled her after responding to a call for help.

Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that six women have now accused Marcus Jackson of assaulting them while on patrol. It’s the first time Jackson is accused of an assault while answering a call.

The other assaults women reported occurred after Jackson pulled over motorists.

A grand jury indicted Jackson on 11 charges related to sexual assaults against three women and asked for investigations into allegations by three other women.

Jackson is accused of threatening to arrest one woman if she did not perform a sex act. Police said the other women said they were fondled.

Jackson is being held in the Mecklenburg County jail. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
