A 16-year-old Castle Hayne boy is facing armed robbery charges after allegedly robbing three people at gunpoint. Investigators say the incidents happened Saturday night around 11 o'clock in downtown Wilmington.
Detectives are investigating Thursday morning's fire at Pender High School. Around two a.m. five unidentified people went onto the campus and burned down a mobile classroom.

A mother who may have been trying to protect her son in a local murder case, may end up serving more than four years in jail. Police arrested the mother of murder suspect Larry Thompson Wednesday night and charged her with accessory to murder. Investigators say Debra Thompson refused to tell police where her son was. They say she also withheld evidence from detectives.
A Wilmington man accused of murder turned himself in federal authorities this afternoon. Larry Thompson is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Morris Cuttino.
An attempted murder suspect turned himself in to authorities after five weeks in hiding. But he's no longer in the custody of sheriff's deputies. Mark Ackerman is actually under electronic house arrest at his parents' home in the gated community of Landfall. Ackerman is charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Wilmington Police are looking for a shooting suspect. The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of 30th Street. Tyrone Tyson of Wilmington was shot in the thigh by a man who claimed Tyson took his money.
