The Highway Patrol announced a preliminary number of 17 people who died on North Carolina highways during the Thanksgiving holiday period. Driver flees from fatal one-car wreck in Durham

Police say the driver and a passenger of a car that wrecked on a Durham freeway ran from the crash, leaving behind one of their passengers who would later die. Investigators said in a news release that a Honda Civic registered in South Carolina lost control while speeding on NC 147 around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday and crashed into a guardrail.

Driver killed in single car crash in Delco

One man is dead after driving off the side of the road and hitting another car. Chief Steve Camlin of Acme, Delco, Reiglewood Rescue says that around 7pm a man driving westbound on Hwy.74/76 in Delco veered off the right side of the road, struck a parked car, and rolled over.
