Local governments will soon have say in ABC store locations

Looks like local governments in North Carolina will soon be able to weigh in on where Alcoholic Beverage Control stores are built in their areas. A bill allowing this passed through the legislature this week and is on its way for Governor Perdue to sign into law. This became an issue in out area last year when the New Hanover County ABC Board built its new facility at 17th and Castle Streets in Wilmington despite community objections.
