HIGH SCHOOL JOB SHADOWING PROGRAM/SENIOR PROJECTS

ABOUT WWAY

WWAY believes strongly in being an active part of our community and contributing to education. When possible WWAY will try to help high school students meet the requirements of their Senior Project through our Job Shadowing Program. The program welcomes students for a session of up to three hours with a WWAY employee whose job the student would like to learn more about. The session will give the student the opportunity to spend time with that employee at the station and ask questions needed to complete the student’s assignment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students must be participating in a senior project at a high school in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover or Pender county. Applications will be verified with a student’s teacher/counselor/coordinator to ensure proper credit.

HOW TO APPLY

Participants and their parent/legal guardian must agree to the terms of, sign and submit the Job Shadowing Agreement/Waiver before a student will be accepted in the program. Availability is limited, and due to the ever-changing nature of news, a session may have to be canceled on short notice. For more information and to apply, contact Jeff Rivenbark, Job Shadowing Program Coordinator, at jrivenbark@wwaytv3.com. Make sure to include the completed Job Shadowing Agreement/Waiver and a description of what you hope to learn and who you want to shadow at the station.
