NC governor heading to DC for Obama meeting

READ MORE:

RALEIGH -- North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue wants to talk about the economy, jobs and stimulus money when she meets President Obama. Perdue's office said she and other governors planned Thursday to meet with the president in Washington. Obama was scheduled to attend a fundraiser for the Democratic Governors Association. Perdue spokesman David Kochman said the governor will fly to Washington after wrapping up two days in New York urging companies to set up shop in North Carolina or expand existing operations there. The visit included meetings with corporate leaders and consultants who help businesses choose sites for new projects. Kochman said Perdue hoped to talk to Obama in part about getting stimulus funds to replace the Yadkin River Bridge on Interstate 85. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

it's hard to say which of

I guess it's true what they say: "Birds of a feather do flock together!"

Perdue Visit to Washington and Obama

Maybe he should tell her that she has already squandered the stimulus money given to her. There are no new private sector jobs as a result of the stimulus, and much of it has gone to "venture capitalists" and "research" programs, as well as to support more government jobs. What a mess.

Happy Perdue

"Kochman said Perdue hoped to talk to Obama in part about getting stimulus funds to replace the Yadkin River Bridge on Interstate 85." >She ought to talk to Nobama about getting some help in replacing the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge...oh wait...Happy Perdue doesn't count the folks in SE North Carolina as part of her support base.

International port

When Happy Perdue meets with King Obama in DC she needs to expedite the construction of the International Port at Southport. This is a real stimulus to our state and will have more longevity than any other project in our state. The infrastructure upgrades necessary will keep people employed for many years to come. The trickle down effect of this port will require CSX railroad , trucking firms and other necessary support operations to beef up their manpower. To the NO PORT crowd, most of these people are retirees and environmentalist who have their own agenda to squelch any kind of development.Southeastern N.C does not have much economic opportunities for the younger generation of workers and has been this way throughout my 41 years living in this area!!!
