The Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners meet Wednesday night to discuss a beach nourishment project. What's at stake? Whether they do the renourishment project at all. Money for the $12-million dollar project was raised during the past nine years through grants and taxes. There will be three new faces sworn in to the Town Commission at the start of the meeting. Where those new commissioners stand on a privately funded emergency beach nourisment project is unclear. The town's mayor says the meeting will decide it's fate. "No matter what we do, whether we say yes, no or table it, there will be a decision made," said Mayor Howard Braxton. "The people would like to know and I want them to voice their opinion. We want to hear that." Because of the large turnout expected, the location of the meeting has been changed to accomodate a bigger crowd. The meeting takes place at 7pm Wednesday at the Town Assembly Building, located at 720 Channel Boulevard in Topsail Beach. WWAY's Meghan Torjussen will be covering the meeting, and will have a report on WWAY at 11pm.
