Two students arrested for having guns/alcohol on campus


BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) - Brunswick County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two students from West Brunswick High School today for having prohibited property on school campus.

At approximately 8:30am on January 4th, School Resource Officers, Corporal Darryl Marlow and Deputy Tina Edwards charged John Cody Galloway for one count of Possessing a Firearm on Educational Property. Deputy Edwards recovered four shotguns and one rifle in his vehicle while parked on school grounds during regular school hours.

Deputies also located a vehicle in the parking lot that contained alcoholic beverages belonging to another student, Brandon James Priddy. Priddy was charged with one count of Possession of Alcohol on School Campus. Deputy Edwards recovered multiple alcoholic beverages from Priddy’s vehicle.

Both subjects were transported and processed at the Brunswick County Detention Facility. Galloway and Priddy were both released on unsecured bonds.
