CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Charlotte police say a restaurant employee shot two would-be robbers, killing one of them.
Police say the shooting happened shortly before 7 p.m. Monday at a restaurant in northeast Charlotte.
Officers were working to identify the dead man. The name of the other suspect and the store clerk were not released.
Witnesses told police two men had entered the Subway, carrying handguns. Police say an employee shot the two men, who ran from the restaurant.
One of them was found dead by officers responding to a report of a shooting. Officers think another man who showed up at Carolinas Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound was involved in the holdup attempt.
