CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine says Charlotte and North Carolina have a good economic story to tell, and he will join the city's mayor in looking at the site where the story will be told.
On Wednesday, Kaine and Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx will tour Time Warner Cable Arena, which is the host of the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
Kaine arrived in Charlotte Tuesday and said both the city and the state have done a good job of recalibrating their respective economies.
The Democratic National Committee announced the selection of Charlotte on Tuesday, rejecting bids by a trio of Midwestern cities hit hard by the recession - Cleveland, Minneapolis, and St. Louis - in favor of the more economically stable North Carolina.
