ONLY ON 3 UPDATE: Van for handicapped girl still missing

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) -- We have an update to a story you saw ONLY ON 3 last night. An Oak Island mother is still without a way to take her handicapped daughter to the doctor after someone stole their van from their house.

The van was specially made for the Jones family to transport 23-year-old Elizabeth. Someone took it from the family's home late Monday night. It's a burgundy Toyota minivan. Without it Elizabeth cannot make it to the doctors.

If you've seen it or have any information contact Oak Island Police.

have Comprehensive Insurance on the van? If so, that covers loss by theft.

If she has the coverage, file a claim and the Insurance Carrier could have a check in the owner's hands in as little as 48 hours.

So, what is the update?

I also find it fairly frightening how you wield your editorial powers in deciding which comments are published.

There is no update to the initial story.

Apparently, you find that mild criticism not worthy of public display.

Reputable newspapers have never hesitated to publish any comments critical of their own reporting or editing.

I deserve a public reply.

I hope these thieves get caught or some one spots the van, but do you really expect thieves to have a conscience and return the van? You have a better chance of someone seeing this story and donating a van to the family.
