Whiteville native Chester McGlockton will be inducted into SC Sports Hall of Fame

WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY) -- Whiteville native Chester McGlockton will be inducted into the South Carolina Sports Hall of Fame on May 23rd. McGlockton was a standout athlete at Whiteville High School. He went onto play college football at Clemson University. McGlockton was a first round draft pick in the NFL. He was selected to play in the Pro Bowl on four different occasions. He played for the Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos and Jets.

McGlockton is a member of the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2009.

Fayetteville native Brad Edwards will also be inducted in May. Edwards graduated from Douglas Byrd in Fayetteville. He played college football at the University of South Carolina. Edwards was a defensive back in the NFL. Longtime Lander A.D. Fennis Horne will also be inducted.
