RALEIGH, NC (AP) -- Gov. Bev Perdue says she believes it's a good time to try to lure California-based companies to build or expand in North Carolina.
Perdue and other administration officials were heading Wednesday to the West Coast on a trade trip for the second year in a row. Last year, she focused on southern California, and said she was successful in recruiting producers to shoot projects again in the state.
Perdue said this year she and Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco are working on northern California, particularly San Jose and San Francisco, and companies involved in information technology and life sciences. She said appointments have already been set up with executives at Google, Cisco and Apple - companies that already have
a presence in North Carolina.
