Perdue's security vigilant but unchanged after threat

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- Gov. Bev Perdue's security detail is keeping a sharper eye out when it comes to the governor's safety. According to staff members the security detail has not changed or been altered, but they are being extra vigilant.

Earlier this week a man was arrested for allegedly saying, "When you see Bev Perdue with a .38 slug in her head, I did it." The man had apparently gotten angry at a DMV office when he made the comment.

A Perdue staffer said the governor's office always takes threats seriously.
