ONLY ON 3: Barfield on the record "loving" neighborhood schools

READ MORE:

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) - We found an email on the county server from New Hanover County Commission Chairman Jonathan Barfield to a constituent that says he supports neighborhood schools.

That's not what some New Hanover County School Board members say. Two, Chairman Don Hayes and Member Janice Canvenaugh, say that Barfield threatened them directly, saying he could affect their budget directly because of their vote in favor of neighborhood schools.

However, on March 31st, Richard C. sent an email to Barfield saying, "I fully SUPPORT neighborhood schools.....FLAT OUT."

In response, Barfield replied, "Me too. I love the concept."

Barfield

Mr. Barfield tells so many lies, he can't keep them straight. He and others like him tell people what they want to hear when they need something from them. If his constituents believe he supports neighborhood schools, they will not vote for him next time. Barfield is a slick politician who has learned well from his father.

We need honest County Commissioners

Mr. Barfield clearly is against neighborhood schools and is covering it up. I was within ear shot when he told the SchoolBoard that it could effect their budget. Come clean Barfield. It will make you feel better about yourself. Remember, you and the others are elected and it really looks like a mistake. Hopefully this will be your last term if all the people that wanted neighborhood schools vote you out.
