Man facing death penalty in Charlotte stabbing

CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty
against a man charged in the stabbing death of a former
photographer for an alternative weekly newspaper in Charlotte.

Prosecutor Gabrielle Macon said in court Thursday that the
District Attorney's Office will seek the death penalty for
29-year-old Antoine Young.

Young is charged with murder, armed robbery and larceny in the
January stabbing death of 55-year-old Christopher Radok. Police say
Young broke into Radok's home and attacked him when the
photographer returned from work.

Macon says she's seeking the death penalty because the stabbing
was especially heinous and happened during the commission of
another crime.

Radok had worked for Creative Loafing as a photographer and
photo editor.
