Pender's Pittman signs with James Madison

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) -- The big man on campus at Pender High School made his choice for college official today. Keynan Pittman, a 6'10" center inked his letter of intent to play basketball for James Madison next year.

Pittman and the Patriots rode a 24-game winning streak to the state title game, which they lost to North Rowan.

It has been a long process, but one that is finally over.

"It feels pretty good," Pittman said. "I never thought I'd be playing college basketball, but it feels pretty good, and playing in the CAA, because my dad played there, so I'm going to JMU."

Pittman's father Ben played basketball at UNCW. Dad said he'll be a bit torn when JMU and the Seahawks get together, but ultimately he'll be pulling for his son.
