Coke shareholders to vote on BPA in soda cans

ATLANTA, GA (CNN) -- Changes could be coming to the way Coca-Cola cans are made.

Wednesday, Coke shareholders are expected to vote on a resolution about the use of bisphenol-A in soda can linings. The resolutions asks Coke to develop alternatives to BPA.

Experts say the chemical compound has been linked to potential changes in brain structure, immune system, reproductive systems, and could lead to an increased rate of breast cancer.

Coca-Cola has stopped using BPA in plastic bottles, but it's still used in the plastic used to line aluminum cans.
