COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Columbus County grand jury has returned indictments against Chadbourn's town manager, including one for impersonating an officer.
A state trooper pulled Cox over in March as Cox and other town leaders returned from Raleigh in the town police chief's SUV. Investigators say Cox told the trooper Cox was the police chief and even showed a badge.
Cox has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which the District Attorney's office also says include resisting a public officer, speeding and expired license. He's scheduled back in court June 6.
Cox still has his job with the town as of this afternoon.

??
Did Cox ever go to court if yes what happen?
Anyone Know??
I haven't heard anything on the police chief opps I mean Town Manager.Did he weasel his way out of this with the great court system we have in Columbus County?
So,
did he drive the Grand Marshall's vehicle in the Strawberry Festival parade?
Is he on paid leave while awaiting trial? Or does he continue performing his duties?
And, when will someone throw out the Big "R" card as his defence?
