Two planes searched at CLT after security scares

HIGHFILL, AR (AP) -- A North Carolina-bound US Airways flight that took off from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport was searched after a suspicious note was found in a bathroom at the Arkansas airport.

According to a statement from the Transportation Security Administration, US Airways Express Flight 2488 was met by law enforcement officers and TSA employees after it taxied to a remote area upon landing about 9:20 a.m. Thursday at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Officials say the passengers got off the plane safely and their carry-on luggage and checked bags were cleared. Officials did a sweep of the aircraft and nothing was found.

TSA officials didn't say what was written in the note.

Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport manager Kelly Johnson said she couldn't comment because the incident is under investigation.
