BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission held a public meeting today after assessing the Brunswick Nuclear Plant.

The NRC conducts assessments of every nuclear plant in the country and they say the Brunswick Pant is running with minimal safety issues.

The only thing that was of concern to the NRC was the organization of emergency responders during a safety alert last year.

However, they say the issue should be cleared up soon. NRC staff was available to answer questions regarding the safety performance of the plant.

The government is doing a good job over-seeing the Brunswick plant. I thought the inspectors were very knowedgable and took the time to explain the issues in great detail.
