Flags lowered for Judge Carroll; funeral arrangements set

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Flags at New Hanover County buildings are at half staff in honor of late District Court Judge John Carroll.

Friends tell us Carroll died yesterday just days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had served on the bench in New Hanover and Pender Counties for more than a decade.

A visitation for Judge Carroll is scheduled for Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. It's at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel on South College Road.

His funeral service is Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church on Eastwood Road. He'll buried at Greenlawn Cemetery.

You stay classy....

With comments like that, you're either an internet troll or a flat-out pig of a human being. It really is unbelievable how classless some people can be.

Smells like karma to me.

Smells like karma to me. Sorry that this man died, and I'm sorry for his family, but don't label him a saint. He was condescending, apathetic, and I saw him disregard legitimate ex-parte orders just because the victim wasn't hurt badly....Rest in Peace, but be aware, he was no saint.

Rest in peace, your honor!
