WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington hit a record-breaking high temperature of 101 degrees this afternoon.
The old record of 99 degrees was set back in 1924, but thanks to high pressure offshore filtering in warm winds and high humidity, we have hit a new record.
This is the first time we've hit triple digits since June 9, 2008, when the high reached 101.
Drink plenty of water, consider rescheduling any strenuous outdoor activities and avoid excessive sun exposure.

Hot
"Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's d**n hot! It's so d**n hot, I saw little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?"
Good Morning Vietnam.
Its so hot I saw a dog
Its so hot I saw a dog chasing a cat today, and both of them were walking....
