Real-life 'Kitchen Cop' calls it a career

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- For years, many of you have tuned in for our regular Kitchen Cops reports of area restaurant health inspections. One of the people who has made that segment possible has called it a career.

Hubert Reaves is retiring Thursday after 28 years at the Brunswick County Health Department.

Reaves is a Food and Lodging Inspector, which means he's one of the real Kitchen Cops whose inspections we share.

The health department says Reaves plans to stay active in his community and church.

We wish him a happy retirement, and thank him for his years of service.

Beth and I have known Hubert

Beth and I have known Hubert Reaves for many years. And would like to extend our heart felt wishes that Hubert has a happy and long retirement. He has made many, many friends over the past 28 years and we are fortunate to have been two of those lucky people.
