Macy McRae Jr.

Macy was such a great man. His son Sterling McRae is my boyfriend. So I knew Macy well. There isnt a day that goes by that we dont think of him and miss him. He was a great father, man, and bestfriend. He would alwyas go out of his way to do for his son, community, and his school. He devoted all of his time to Williston Middle School and to Wilmington Housing Commity. He was a very loved and respected man. He would do anything he could to help anyone. Macy wasnt just a father to his son Sterling but also his bestfriend. Sterling misses and needs him every single day. Its almost a year since his passing on June 25 2011. Its still so hard to believe that he is no longer with us. He was such a healthy person. He excercised daily and faithfully. He ate healthy. When I had gotten the phone call from Sterling about Macys passing I couldnt believe what he had just said. I asked Sterling what do you mean dead? do you mean like hes dead emoitionally? He said no my daddy is gone. I couldnt and still cant believe it till this day. But to me its seems like everyone has just forgotten about him about all he has done for his "friends" and his community and not to mention Williston Middle School! But Sterling and I will never forget him. It just really upsets me that everyone told Sterling how they would be there for him if he needed anything. And Im sure Macy expected that at least one of his friends would be there for Sterling if he needed anything. But no everyone just turned there back. Macy is most likey disgusted. He was a great man, educator and friend. And his legacy will always live on to us. I miss you dad I wish you were still here with us. There was so much you and sterling wanted to do together. But if anyone that knew Macy and reads this his son Sterling needs yoou and your support. To contact him Sterling you can reach him at 106 Hill Lane Lot #29 Leland NC 28451. We love and Miss you sooooo very much! Rest In Peice Dad.

Wonderful advisor

Mr. McRae was a sincere and genuine man. He was an outstanding advisor and I learned a great deal from him while in the education program at UNC Wilmington. His compassion for children, shown brightly in all that he did. I wish I had been able to share all this with him before he passed.

I am still trying to process

I am still trying to process what was just learned.....Mr. McRae was a true "icon" of Williston Middle School - we cannot image what next school year will be like without him around and about. Our hearts go out to his family as well as the school. God bless all!

Such a loss, my heart breaks

Such a loss, my heart breaks for his son. Macy was such a good man, and a wonderful neighbor. He will be missed by more than he could ever imagine.

Where are the comments?

Mr. Macy McRae, Jr., Assistant Principal at Williston Middle School passed away over the weekend.

Why are there NO COMMENTS from the School Community?

Staff, Parents, Children???

I heard about this man, being a good man, and his passing all the way across town yesterday...at our Church.

I could only imagine the outpouring of sympathies on this site if the assistant principal was in our very engaged community...where the community has a close relationship with the school and the staff.

Where are comments from staff, teachers, past students. Goodness, maybe this really sheds some light on the topic of caring communities, and what they reap.
