WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- After a year and a half of growing, a local salon owner chopped his locks for charity in his first ever “Hair can Help” fundraiser.

Imago Salon owner Chad Bean decided he wanted to use his hair give back to community organizations as well as national organizations. Bean was the "mane" event at Saturday’s fundraiser as he auctioned off chances to cut his curls.

Funds went toward the Domestic Violence Shelter of Wilmington and Adopt an Angel. Hair went to Beautiful Lengths and Locks of Love. Bean's clients have also been donating their hair and money to help out.

"The shop's been open for nearly five years, and we've never done anything like this, and just to give back to the community a little bit,” Bean said. “We're a small shop. It's just myself and Ginger and Katie right now, but we thought if we could help a couple of local organizations, get a little notoriety for them and raise a little money for them as well, it would be a good thing. Win, win, win.”

Curls

That is so great what you guys did. Secondly, Chad, I could not help but notice that you have curly hair, I do too and it so hard to find someone to cut it. How good are you? Mine is curly in the back and straight in the front. Not sure what to do.
Thanks,
