SALISBURY, NC (AP) -- A Salisbury man faces a misdemeanor
charge after authorities say he struck a woman standing in the
median of Interstate 85 after a wreck.
North Carolina troopers said Todd Winecoff didn't slow down
Friday as he approached the wreck Friday afternoon. He swerved to
avoid a stopped car and struck 22-year-old Lamanda Reid of
Lillington as she stood in the median after her fender-bender.
Reid died, and a second woman in the median was also struck, but
suffered only minor injuries.
Winecoff was charged Monday with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
