READ MORE: STORMTRACK 3: Tropical Storm Bret pulls away, "Cindy" forms

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) July 21, 2011 -- Two tropical systems are off the east coast, but neither one is expected to make landfall or pose any threat to our area.

Tropical Storm Cindy formed Wednesday afternoon well north of Bermuda, and poses no threat to land.

Tropical Storm Bret will stay far offshore of southeastern NC, but the storm may lead to an increased risk of rip currents over the next few days. Seas of 4-7 feet are possible in the offshore waters Thursday, in addition to wind gusts of 25+ kts. Rain and high winds are not expected over land.
