3 arrested after child tossed into pool is injured

WASHINGTON, NC (AP) -- Investigators say three adults have been arrested in Beaufort County after a 4-year-old child was seriously injured as they tried to throw her off a roof into a swimming pool last month.

Deputies say the child was staying with her mother's friend when she was hurt at a home in Washington on July 11.

Investigators say the girl hit the side of the pool after she was thrown and was taken to a Greenville hospital.

Deputies said 28-year-old Camelia Cartwright, 28-year-old Brandon Woolard, and 27-year-old Megan Woolard were arrested Thursday. Cartwright was charged with child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury, while both of the Woolards were charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury.

It wasn't clear if any of them had attorneys.

throwing child off roof!

What an odd story. Why would three 28 yr olds be throwing a 4 yr old child off a second story roof into a pool to begin with? Poor little child. These people need very long prison terms. The story didn't state how the child is but hitting the side of the pool from that height can't be to good. sick people out there.
