WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police arrested StarNews Circulation Manager Richard Scott Wiggs Monday and charged him with stealing money from the newspaper.
According to the StarNews, investigators say he stole more than $100,000 over a two-year period. The paper's parent company, The New York Times, say he he stole at least $52,000.
Wiggs is out of jail on a $25,000 secured bond. The paper also says Wiggs is no longer employed there.

Would it be possible to indict the publisher and editors....
....for being left-wing stooges, kowtowing to their bosses in New York?
Star News
Sounds like the company frowns on this behavior.
The newspaper
The newspaper doesn't pay their distribution people a living wage, unfortunately. Not an excuse, but I'll be he was earning under $20k / year working there.
K
He's making zero K's now.
K
THAT'S FOR SURE. AT LEAST HE HAD A JOB THEN.
I guess all criminals are just victims waiting to be discovered
He was the circulation manager ... He had acces to enough money to steal between 50 and 100 thousand dollars ... Sounds pretty naive to think he was making less than $20K
Using your "victim logic" one would have to come to the conclusion that all the homeless people in the world should be master criminals by now.
he was likely
making $75K or higher for that job
What town are you living
What town are you living in???? 75k??? Get real.
No No
you get real.
He was in charge of all home deliveries. He oversaw the actions of District Managers and Route delivery personnel.
If anything, $75K may fall short of what he made.
NO NO
MAKING MORE THAN 75K'S AT A NEWSPAPER THAT OUTSOURCES ITS PRINTING? "NICE". LIKE THE LADY SAID. HES NOT MAKING 20, OR 75 NOW.
You are right on target. He
You are right on target. He had to be making over $75k per year. Greed got the best of him. Too bad....I bet he will not make that in jail.
