Boy says he saw fin before marine animal bit him at Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- New details have been released on a child that suffered a bite by a marine animal yesterday. It happened about 4:00 yesterday afternoon near access number 8 in the vicinity of Moores inlet at Wrightsville Beach.

Police say a 12-year-old boy was about 50 yards offshore in about four and a half feet of water when the boy says he saw a fin. Police say they don't know if it was a small shark or a fish that left more than a dozen indentations in the boy's hand.

The victim's mother says the boy is taking antibiotics and is doing well.

Marine Animal

It is funny how our local news reports this as a marine animal when anyone can recognize this was a shark. Please look at photo if you need further convincing.

It's called a "marine animal bite" when it happens in Wrightsville Beach or Carolina Beach and it is called a SHARK ATTACK when it is Topsail Beach or anywhere else.

Probably the same "marine

Probably the same "marine animal" that tripped our new Police Chief and caused him to break his foot.

The Ocean.......

belongs to the creatures who live in it. We do not live in it.

I have said this before: Oceans are for looking at. Pools are for swimming.
