WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A TV star from the Discovery Channel's "Swamp Loggers" rolled into downtown Wilmington today.
Fourth-generation logger Bobby Goodson and his company Goodson's All-Terrain Logging have become big stars thanks to the show, which is shot in swamps and forests around the Cape Fear. This afternoon Goodson joined the man he logs for, a member of the Wilmington Downtown Rotary Club, to talk at the club's luncheon.
"Part of the family that I work for, I'm not sure how many Corbetts there are, it's a big family, and they own a lot of land and timber, and I've been working for them for about 15 years now, and Albert asked me if I could come here to the Rotary Club and just talk to the people," Goodson said. "I'm not sure what I'm suppose to say yet, but I guess I'll find out in a few minutes."
Goodson did find out. He told Rotarians about how he got started in the logging business and what his influences are.

Men like Bobby Goodson are becoming a rarity
He takes good care of his people, he doesn't flinch in the face of adversity, and when everything's been going wrong but the crew STILL manages to make quota, he never forgets to thank them AND the big guy upstairs who helped them along. He's an inspiration for any boss in any field.
Great show!
I really enjoy the show. It is comforting to see that I'm not the only one who owns equipment that is constantly breaking down.
Since a portion of the program
is filmed in Columbus County, is there any potential for Frog Strickland to join the cast? Might give him something to keep his time occupied.
GREAT IDEA
Probably drive ratings sky high in this area.
Just Thinking
After a season of Swamp Loggers and even more fame, Maybe ? Grand Marshal Azalea Festival Parade.
Wow!
