Pender moves home game vs. Whiteville after vandalism to field

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) -- The Pender High School football team will play a home game away from home Friday because of damage to the football field.

The school's athletics director says someone drove on the field and did donuts at some point after Friday afternoon. The damage was discovered Sunday.

Crews tried to fix it Monday, but the field is still not playable. So the Patriots game against Whiteville Friday will be played at Trask High School. Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m.
