Investigators offer no new info on baby mauled by dogs

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The investigation into a nine-day-old baby mauled to death by dogs at her family's Bladen County home still has few answers.

Today, District Attorney Jon David released this statement:

"We realize there is a tremendous amount of interest in this case. The Bladen County Sheriff's Office, the District Attorney's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation continue to work closely together to determine whether anyone should be held criminally responsible for this tragic event. All of our agencies have been inundated with requests from the media about the facts and circumstances surrounding the death. The rules of ethics limit what information we can share with the public about a pending investigation. We hope to conclude our investigation sometime next week."

Nine-day-old Addyson Camerino died after at least one dog attacked her at a home in Clarkton August 30. Animal Control seized five dogs from the home. David told WWAY earlier this week that investigators are trying to figure out which dogs were involved in the attack and interview all the people involved.
