WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Tea Party members took to the streets of Wilmington Saturday morning for a silent rally.
When Tina Sims, a 47-year-old unemployed woman from Hattiesburg, Mississippi left a post online asking Americans of any party affiliation to step outside on the morning of September 17 holding a sign asking "Can You Hear Us Now?" a group at the intersection of College and Oleander answered the call.
Frank Nichols said that their actions were "letting our officials know that we're still here, we're not going anywhere, and we're holding their feet to the fire. We're sort of keeping them honest. And basically that's why we're out here now." Nichols added that they hope to keep people who couldn't be there aware of what is going on.
