Mayor Bloomberg will be UNC commencement speaker

READ MORE:

CHAPEL HILL (WTVD) -- UNC said Monday that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will deliver the spring commencement address.

"Mayor Bloomberg has had an extraordinary career in business, philanthropy, and public service," Chancellor Holden Thorp said in a news release. "He will help make commencement very special for our graduates and their families and friends."

Bloomberg also will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree at the ceremony.

Bloomberg was first elected mayor in 2001, just two months after the September 11 attacks. Before that, he made his fortune with his own financial news and information service.

UNC's spring commencement is set for May 13 in Kenan Stadium.

Doctor of Laws?

Would that be for browbeating the city council into changing the term limits law in New York City, so he could run for a third term? (Of course, the Republican Party would not back him, so he changed parties again and became an independent. He started out as a liberal Democrat.)

Or would that be for violating federal firearms laws by sending New York residents with fake IDs to Virginia to purchase handguns, as part of his one-man crusade against private handgun ownership?

I can only assume that Satan had a previous commitment for May 13th...but considering the political leanings of the leadership at UNC, I'm sure that either would be deemed accepatble and deserving of an honorary degree.

I can't believe

he's invited..... Since he would not invite faith groups to the 911 remembrace. Poor choice.

Bloomberg is a perfect choice for UNC...

he's a liberal and speaks their language.

He made his

Since Bloomberg has his money you would think he would be against the wealth redistribution that Obuma wants to implement. If you want some of my money, come mow my yard and earn it.
