WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- If you're a fan of winter, don't expect the extreme cold we've seen the last two years in North Carolina, according to AccuWeather.
The weather forecasting company's long-range forecast for winter 2011-2012 calls for milder weather around the southeast, including mainly rain in North Carolina, as opposed to frozen precipitation like we've seen the last couple of winters.
AccuWeather's long-range forecast also calls for the harshest winter weather to be focused in the upper midwest.
