Police search for Family Dollar robber

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police are looking for a man who robbed a store in broad daylight. It happened around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Dollar at 700 Shipyard Blvd.

An employee says a man entered the store and approached the counter. He demanded money and showed a handgun hidden under his shirt. The employee handed over money from the register and the man left.

The robber is described as a black male, 40-50 years old, 5'10"-5'11", medium build. He reportedly had a light mustache and some acne or pock marks on his face.

The robber was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight around his face, and yellow-tinted sunglasses. He may have been driving a maroon colored car.
