Pooches in Pink support Breast Cancer Awareness

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Even man's best friend is doing their part in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pooches in Pink at Paw Beach Pet Resort in Wilmington features an opportunity to have your dog's tail or ears dyed pink. Painting costs $5-10 depending on how long your pooch would like to support the cause.

For canines that are too dark or afraid of paint, they can still show their support with a pink ribbon bandana.

"I know several people that have been affected by cancer and a fellow groomer that was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I think it's just a great way to raise awareness and to raise money," groomer Samantha Williams said.

All proceeds from the Pooches in Pink fundraiser will benefit Making Strides for the American Cancer Society
