CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) - Another associate of President Obama is coming to North Carolina, this time at a networking and education event for women.
Senior Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, author Terry McMillan and Gov. Beverly Perdue were scheduled to speak Wednesday at the North Carolina Governor's Conference for Women at the Charlotte Convention Center.
About 1,500 people are expected to attend the event, which receives no state funding. In the past two weeks, Obama and at least two other Cabinet secretaries have visited North Carolina the year before the presidential election.
Obama domestic policy adviser Melody Barnes spoke at the conference last year in Raleigh.
Chief Justice Sarah Parker headlines four inductees into the North Carolina Women's Hall of Fame who will be honored at a luncheon.
