WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A security lockdown has ended at New Hanover High School, Gregory School of Science, Mathematics and Technology, Williston Middle School and New Hanover High's Jap Davis Field House, according to New Hanover County Schools. The schools were on lockdown for about 30 minutes after a shooting was reported near the campuses.

Police and EMS have responded to the intersection of South 13th and Ann Streets. They have set up crime scene tape in the intersection next to 1 Stop Shop Grocery at 225 S. 13th Street.

A WPD spokeswoman says the victim, Terrence Dewarren Wilson, 31, was shot in the lower left leg. She says Wilson was not injured seriously and went reluctantly to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. At this point police do not have a description of the shooter.
