WILMINGTON, NC (NET NEWS) -- The buyer for five SEA-COMM MEDIA stations in WILMINGTON, NC is DAVIS MEDIA, LLC. The deal, widely reported last week (NET NEWS 11/10) with no specific buyer named, has yet to be filed with the FCC and no price was disclosed; GEORGE REED of MEDIA SERVICES GROUP served as exclusive broker for the deal.
The stations include the Talk "THE BIG TALKER" simulcast of WLTT/BOLIVIA, NC and WNTB/TOPSAIL BEACH, NC; Classic Rock WBNE (103.7 THE BONE)/WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC; Triple A WUIN (98.3 THE PENGUIN)/OAK ISLAND, NC; and WSFM-A/CAROLINA BEACH, NC, plus FM translator W240AS/WILMINGTON. DAVIS is taking over in an LMA starting immediately.
SEA-COMM owner RICK JORGENSEN said, "After 46 years in the radio business, and almost 24 years in WILMINGTON, I have decided it is time to sail off into the sunset."
DAVIS MEDIA principal TOM DAVIS said, "DAVIS MEDIA is delighted about sustaining the SEA-COMM heritage in WILMINGTON, as well as implementing our digital/radio model, Hometown Driver, which has produced double digit growth for two years and running. With JAKE RUSSELL as our local owner-operator, we look to replicate our pilot market in WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA, and WILMINGTON is the perfect market to continue the expansion of our model and radio's future as the driver of the local media company."
