WENDELL, NC (AP) -- A Wake County sheriff's deputy and a suspect in a domestic call have been wounded in an apparent shootout.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Phyllis Stephens said in an e-mail Thursday that deputies were responding to a domestic call in the town of Wendell, which is east of Raleigh. Stephens said when the deputies arrived, shots were fired. No other details of the incident were immediately available.
