Three people charged in Charlotte shooting death

CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) -- Three people have been arrested in the shooting death of a 20-year-old Charlotte man.

Charlotte police say they arrested a 17-year-old male Wednesday and charged him with murder.

Twenty-year-old Craig Alan Leverette Jr. was shot and killed near his home on Dec. 8. Leverette was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to Carolinas Medical Center.

Police say the teen charged with murder had taken off an electronic monitoring device from a previous arrest. He's also charged with possession of a handgun by a minor and carrying a concealed gun.

Thirty-eight-year-old Reginald Eugene Martin and 18-year-old Carolyn Nicole Lilly are charged as accessories. Police have not described their crime.

It wasn't clear if they have lawyers.
