New Hanover Co. Library offers free e-books, lessons on e-readers

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Did Santa bring you a new e-reader for Christmas? If so, you don't necessarily have to spend more money on e-books.

The New Hanover County Library held an instruction class today. Library customers learned how to borrow e-books from the library for free.

Librarian Susan Woods says many folks might have gotten an e-reader as a gift and want to know how to use them right away.

"There are kind of two different processes depending on what type of device you have," Woods said. "For all of them it's the same basic idea. You check them out with your library card for free, and you would do that from home, and then you check the books our for two weeks and then they stay on your device for two weeks, and then they automatically expire."

If you're having trouble with your e-reader or just want to learn more, the library is offering classes this week. Click here for more information.
