WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY)-- Imagine giving birth to a baby on Christmas, Easter and New Year's. One Columbus County mother continued a tradition of having holiday children.

"I thought it was going to be a New Year's baby. I had a dream about it and it actually came true," mother Yvetta Jones said.

Seven pound, five ounce Joan Syaira Ismay Herod is the first baby born in Whiteville in 2012. For Jones this is her fifth child, but first little girl.

"I'm about to cry, but yeah, just having her is wonderful," Jones said. "I always wanted a girl, and I finally got one."

Jones says she looks forward to doing all sorts of girl stuff with her daughter from dressing her up to even putting her in pageants.

Little Joan was due January 11, but Jones says she had a feeling her daughter was going to come early.

"I have a Christmas baby and a Easter baby, so its just amazing to have all these holiday babies. I guess I'm blessed or lucky or something," Jones said.

Jones came to the hospital December 26, then was sent home only to return New Year's day. This time she will be leaving the hospital with Columbus County's first baby of 2012 and also what she says will be her last child.

on a healthy birth.

But, I am challenged by one item. The child and Mother do not share the same name. And it notes, this is her fifth child.

This could certainly lead to some pertinant questions as to life style and so forth.

If this is another instance of the taxpayer stepping up to the plate to cover the hospital costs, costs for feeding clothing and housing, as well as whatever other entitlement programs are out there, it's time for a wake up call.

Every other facet of our society is facing budget cuts as the available funds are dwindling. Those cuts have to extend to programs such as Medicaid and Food Stamps and SEction 8.

Wake up time is here.

If you think this last budget session in Raleigh was tough, watch the next one.

Yes You Are

What is wrong with you? What in the hell does a name and how many children the mother has have to do with anything? That is a really biased statement. This baby and the other 4 children could have the name of the father meaning one man. Unless you know this lady don't judge her by her baby's name or how many children she has. Some people are just JERKS

After I hit the send button and the station rightfully dumped my comments in to the recycle bin, I realized the name difference and I said to myself, "I wonder if anyone else caught that?" You sir, if you were not before, would make a great Marine Corps Sniper.

SurfCityTom's assumptions are most likely correct, since the story makes no mention of baby daddy. However, I will give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she has a good job and insurance has picked up the tab for the whole family.
