VOTE 2012: Hagan not running for governor

WASHINGTON, DC (WWAY) -- Mark another name off the list of Democrats who may run for governor in North Carolina.

Sen. Kay Hagan is not running for the office left open when Gov. Bev Perdue decided last week not to seek re-election. Hagan's press office says the Hagan is "definitely not running for governor."

The Democrat is in the middle of her first term in the Senate after beating out incumbent Republican Elizabeth Dole in 2008.

There's a no brainer

she rode the Barry O coattails into office. She could run and if elected resign the Senate seat.

But if she lost, that would impact her fund raising attempts for the 2014 Senatorial campaign.
