WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Republican gubernatorial candidiate Pat McCrory's campaign announced today he will be in Wilmington Thursday. The former Charlotte mayor will make an appearance at Breaktime (127 South College Road) around noon.

McCrory will formally announce his run for governor tomorrow. He's the first Republican since Lt. Gov. Jim Gardner in 1992 to have a clear path to the GOP gubernatorial nomination.

I could tolerate him as Governor

While I would rather see a Democrat elected Governor, I won't be lining up to jump off the CF Memorial bridge with the rest of the Democrats. McCrory did a very good job while mayor of Charlotte and has long been an advocate of mass transit and other progressive ideals.

why breaktime?

why is he going to make an appearance at Breaktime? Like the bar, but seems an odd place for a campanign stop
