Bladen Co. man arrested for plow theft

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Bladen County deputies have arrested a Clarkton man for allegedly stealing a plow out of a field.

Alston Lynn Collins, 31, of 356 Bridgers Rd. is charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

Investigators say the bottom plow had been left underneath a barn in a field on S. Page Rd. Collins had previously worked for the owner of the plow. Detectives say Collins got help loading the plow with a backhoe after claiming that the plow had been given to him.

The plow was loaded on a trailer and taken to Metal Recycling in Whiteville, where it was valued at $2,500 and Collins was given $400 for it as scrap metal.

Collins is currently in the Bladen County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

why aren't the recyling companies in jail?

Come-on, A goober shows up with a good plow he wants to sell for just scrap and they aren't just a little suspicious? Some guy shows up with a bunch of new copper pipe or bunch of burnt telephone cable and this doesn't raise some red flags?
These recyclers are facilitating all this theft and vandalism that has been going on the past several years.

Not Guilty He's so scarney,

Not Guilty
He's so scarney, he could never lift it. Typical thief. Doesn't care if he does thousands of dollars of harm, if he can get a few hundred bucks out of it.
